Anu wrote her first play aged 14. This was performed at her school. With friends and fellow students Anu and co. performed many plays at the Edinburgh festival and in student forums. Following graduation from Medical school, whilst working steadily through her medical training, Anu began to work professionally in theatre.

In this journey she has directed , produced worked with , been mentored by and very occasionally,   performed   with a variety of folks including and / or/ at the following list: Celtic Lodge ( Edinburgh), Hill St theatre( Edinburgh), Trinity Bouy Warf (London), Paines Plough with Vicky Featherstone, Shane Solanki, Battersea Arts Centre, Chisenhale dance space, Claire Burrel, Maya Theatre, Bobby Baker, Nitin Sawney, Akram Khan, Sign dance collective, Notting Hill Arts Theatre, Oval House, Rowan Joffee, Soho Theatre : with Nina Steiger and Channel 4.

She has been supported by, amongst others, Tara Arts and Khali Theatre Company.
