A sweet, dark and hopeful play
This play explores the malady of a mother whose child has been murdered. Her friends and local community , conjure some magic to reveal the story of the child’s death.
Inspiration for London Fields
“The initial idea for this play came from many strands, first and foremost my own experiences of working with people from a huge array of cultures and how my local park London Fields offered a space to share our experiences of humanity. At this time I read Malidome Patrice Some’s books on West African Spirituality. After my studies of Hindu philosophy, I was delighted to find a deep view of spirituality from Africa. Following reading these books , I travelled to Ghana and was fortunate to visit the shrines and priests of these people. My profound experiences from these visits are in some ways documented in this sweet, dark and hopeful play.”
